RESOURCES

During your orientation or discovery flight, you must be able to provide Check6Air with proof of US citizenship, as well as a government-issued photo identification card, such as a driver's license. Your instructor will make copies of these for our records. If you are not a US citizen, we must make copies of your passport, visa, resident card, or any other applicable documents. All non-US citizens must submit an application with the TSA prior to starting flight training.

GETTING STARTED

Getting started, he or she must obtain a student pilot certificate (IACRA), as well as a minimum third class medical endorsed by a certified Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). Both of these will be required to fly an aircraft solo, so it is a good idea to ensure students qualify medically prior to any in-depth flight or ground training.

AIRCRAFT RENTAL

Both students and certified pilots must show a satisfactory level of knowledge and skill with one of our instructors, prior to renting an aircraft for solo or personal use. The checkout form will be required by all certified pilots. The pre-solo knowledge exam will be required by both certified and student pilots prior to aircraft rental.

FAA KNOWLEDGE EXAM

Students are encouraged to study and pass their knowledge exam as soon as practical. The FAA exams require 70% to pass and consist of 60 multiple choice questions for the Private Pilot Airplane (PAR) and Instrument Rating Airplane (IRA), and 100 multiple choice questions for the Commercial Pilot Airplane (CAX). Exam costs are $175 each.
